About Brisbane International Cruise Terminal (BICT)

The Brisbane International Cruise Terminal is located at Cruise Terminal Drive, Pinkenba QLD 4008 — adjacent to Brisbane Airport on the northern bank of the Brisbane River. It opened in June 2022, replacing the former Portside Wharf at Hamilton as the region’s primary cruise facility.

BICT is a purpose-built, world-class facility capable of hosting the largest cruise ships in the world, including Royal Caribbean’s Icon-class vessels. It is the official home port for cruise lines including Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Princess Cruises, P&O Australia and others. Parking at BICT is limited and expensive — a private transfer is the most convenient way to get there.

The terminal is approximately 89 km north of Surfers Paradise via the M1 Pacific Motorway. Travel time is typically 70–90 minutes, longer during peak hours. Our drivers monitor traffic conditions and plan departure times accordingly.

What is the price for a cruise transfer from Surfers Paradise to BICT?

A Standard Sedan from Surfers Paradise to Brisbane International Cruise Terminal costs from $175 one-way. A Kia Carnival costs from $225, and a Maxi Taxi costs from $350. These are fixed fares per vehicle, not per person. Book your transfer here.

Do you cover the return transfer from BICT to Gold Coast?

Yes — we provide transfers in both directions. You can book a one-way transfer to BICT before your cruise, and a return transfer from BICT back to your Gold Coast address after your cruise. Book both legs online or call 0414 680 860.

Where exactly is Brisbane International Cruise Terminal?

BICT is located at Cruise Terminal Drive, Pinkenba QLD 4008, adjacent to Brisbane Airport. It is not the same as Portside Wharf at Hamilton, which was the former cruise terminal. Please ensure your driver is booked to Pinkenba, not Hamilton. Email us at admin@gc-airporttransfers.com.au if unsure.

Can I book for early morning or late evening cruise departures?

Our standard operating hours are 6am–9pm AEST. Cruise ships often depart in the afternoon, so most bookings fall comfortably within our hours. For very early morning departures, a $50 after-hours surcharge applies for pickups before 6am. Contact us to discuss your timing.

How much luggage can I bring?

Standard Sedan: 2 standard items. Kia Carnival: 8 items. Maxi Taxi: 10 items. Cruise passengers often travel with large suitcases — if you have oversized baggage or more than standard, please call us or email admin@gc-airporttransfers.com.au to confirm suitability.

Are child seats available for cruise transfers?

Yes — child seats are available for $25 per seat, AS/NZS 1754 compliant, fitted by your driver. Please request when booking via our booking page or by calling 0414 680 860.

Is parking available at Brisbane International Cruise Terminal?

Yes, limited paid parking is available at BICT, but it is expensive for multi-day cruise trips. A private transfer from the Gold Coast is typically more convenient and cost-effective — especially for families. Book a transfer to avoid the parking hassle.

Do you service all Gold Coast suburbs for cruise transfers?

Yes — we service all Gold Coast suburbs including Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Burleigh Heads, Palm Beach, Coolangatta, Robina, Southport, Hope Island, Coomera, Helensvale and more. Call us or email admin@gc-airporttransfers.com.au to confirm your suburb.

What if my cruise is delayed and arrives late?

We monitor cruise schedules as best we can, but please call us or email admin@gc-airporttransfers.com.au as soon as you know of any delay. We will do our best to accommodate schedule changes. Return transfer flexibility is one reason we recommend booking with a local operator.

Cruise Transfer Timing and Pickup Notes

Cruise ship schedules are strict, and missing your embarkation window can mean missing your cruise entirely. When booking a cruise transfer from the Gold Coast to Brisbane Cruise Terminal, we work back from your embarkation time to calculate a safe pickup time. Most cruise lines recommend passengers arrive at the terminal at least two to three hours before the ship’s departure.

Brisbane Cruise Terminal is located at Portside Wharf in Hamilton, approximately 85 kilometres north of central Gold Coast and 100 kilometres from Coolangatta. Your driver will collect you from your Gold Coast hotel, holiday apartment, or home address and take you directly to the terminal without intermediate stops.

For post-cruise returns, we track ship arrival times. Disembarkation often takes longer than scheduled due to customs, luggage collection, and passenger queues. Your driver will monitor the process and be ready when you clear the terminal, so there is no need to rush or worry about waiting.

Group bookings for cruise transfers are common — couples, families, and friend groups often travel together. A Kia Carnival suits up to seven passengers, while a Maxi Taxi accommodates up to eleven. Let us know your group size and luggage volume when you book.
