About Brisbane International Cruise Terminal (BICT)
The Brisbane International Cruise Terminal is located at Cruise Terminal Drive, Pinkenba QLD 4008 — directly adjacent to Brisbane Airport on the northern bank of the Brisbane River. BICT opened in June 2022, replacing the former Portside Wharf at Hamilton as South East Queensland’s primary cruise facility.
BICT is purpose-built to accommodate the world’s largest cruise ships and serves as the home port for cruise lines including Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Princess Cruises and P&O Australia. The terminal features modern passenger facilities, dedicated check-in areas, and streamlined embarkation processes. Getting there by private transfer is the most stress-free option — parking is limited and costly for multi-day cruises.

Is There a Free Shuttle Bus to Brisbane Cruise Terminal?
Some cruise lines provide free shuttle bus services from Brisbane CBD to the terminal on embarkation day — however, these services typically run from designated city pick-up points only and are not available from the Gold Coast. If you’re departing from the Gold Coast, you’ll need to arrange your own transfer to the terminal.
A private transfer with GC Airport Transfers is the most convenient option — we pick you up directly from your Gold Coast address with all your luggage, and drop you at the terminal entrance. No car park fees, no connecting coaches, no stress.

Cruise Transfer Timing and Pickup Notes
Brisbane Cruise Terminal at Portside Wharf in Hamilton is the primary embarkation point for cruises departing Queensland. Whether you are boarding a short Pacific Island cruise or a longer journey to Asia or New Zealand, getting to the terminal on time is critical. We recommend arriving at least two to three hours before your ship departs.
From the Gold Coast, the drive to Brisbane Cruise Terminal takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes. Traffic on the M1 and Gateway Motorway can add time during peak hours. For morning departure cruises, many guests prefer a mid-morning pickup when traffic has eased. Let us know your embarkation time and we will recommend the ideal departure time from your Gold Coast address.
The terminal at Portside Wharf has a dedicated passenger drop-off area where your driver will take you as close as possible to the check-in entrance. We will help unload your luggage at kerbside so you can proceed straight to check-in without delay.
For post-cruise returns departing from the same terminal, see our dedicated Brisbane Cruise Terminal to Gold Coast transfer page. All return bookings include vessel arrival tracking.
